A watch measures time. A Chapter preserves it. This is the complete guide to the CZARD Chapter System: how CZARD watch numbers work, how to choose yours, and what each number costs.

CZARD is an independent watch house with offices in Geneva, Helsinki and Surat. The Compass, available as VENI, VIDI and VICI, is a 38mm chronograph powered by the Seiko TMI VK64 Mecha-quartz movement, priced at ₹14,999. The GENÈVE 1541 is a fully Swiss Made 38mm automatic powered by the Sellita SW261-1, priced at ₹59,870.

Compass and GENÈVE 1541 use separate Chapter structures, number ranges and fee classes.

Instead of treating a serial number as something hidden in a database, the Chapter System makes it part of the identity of the watch.

Every CZARD in a Chapter takes a numbered position. That number is engraved on the caseback, attached to a specific reference and issued only once within that Chapter and reference.

For collectors in India, it also offers something unusually personal: you can choose your watch's serial number.

Maybe it is a birthday, an anniversary, 0786, a repeating sequence, or simply a number you have always liked. Some collectors pick the year they were born. Others choose the day they bought their first watch. A few simply wait for 0001.

The point is not that one number makes the watch mechanically better. It is that your watch occupies a specific place in the history of the House.

What Is the CZARD Chapter System?

A Chapter is a fixed sequence of numbers for each watch reference.

Each Compass reference has 1,000 positions, numbered 0001-1000. Each GENÈVE 1541 reference has 500 positions, numbered 0001-0500.

When every position is claimed, the Chapter closes permanently. It is never extended and never reopened.

Reaching the final number closes the Chapter, but it does not necessarily end the collection. A future Chapter may follow with its own record.

Compass is currently in The Legacy Chapter. GENÈVE 1541 belongs to The Geneve Chapter.

For collectors looking at a limited numbered watch, the important distinction is that the limit applies to the Chapter and reference, not necessarily to the collection forever.

How to Read a CZARD Watch Number

TLCVN-0143 means The Legacy Chapter, VENI, position 0143.

For Compass:

1. TLC identifies The Legacy Chapter.

2. VN identifies VENI. VIDI uses VD and VICI uses VC.

3. 0143 is the individual position.

TLCVN-0143 and TLCVD-0143 are therefore different watch numbers. One belongs to VENI and the other to VIDI.

The four digits are only half the story.

Can Two CZARD Watches Have the Same Number?

Yes, if they are different references.

VENI 0143 and VIDI 0143 can both exist because VENI and VIDI have separate number sequences.

What cannot be repeated is the same Chapter, reference and number together. Once VENI 0143 is issued in The Legacy Chapter, another VENI in that Chapter cannot receive it.

How to Choose Your CZARD Watch Number

You can choose any available number before you buy.

On Compass watches, use Own a Number. On GENÈVE 1541, use Choose Number.

1. Choose your watch.

2. Open the number selector.

3. Pick an available number.

4. Complete checkout.

The Compass checker shows whether a number is available, sold or temporarily being used in another customer's checkout.

If a particular number matters to you, choose it before completing your order. If you buy without selecting one, CZARD assigns an available number to the watch.

What Does “In Someone's Checkout” Mean?

Another customer is currently trying to buy that number.

The Compass checker shows a countdown while the number is being held. If checkout is not completed before the timer expires, the number can become available again.

Your number is confirmed with your order.

Compass Number Classes and Fees

Most Compass numbers carry no additional reservation fee. Certain patterns and significant positions belong to four special classes.

Within each Compass reference, there are 34 Legacy, 59 Crown, 45 Icon and 170 Signature positions. The remaining 692 positions carry no reservation fee.

For some collectors, the appeal is the pattern. For others, it is simply finding one number that feels personal.

A special number does not mean a different or better watch. The movement, case, dial and warranty remain the same. The fee applies only to reserving that number.

What About GENÈVE 1541?

GENÈVE 1541 has its own Chapter structure.

Each Écru, Lac Léman and Jura Gruén reference has 500 numbers, from 0001 to 0500, within The Geneve Chapter.

Each reference has its own code:

• TGCEC for Écru

• TGCLL for Lac Léman

• TGCJG for Jura Gruén

Its number classes work differently from Compass:

Each GENÈVE 1541 reference has 64 Crown, 5 Icon, 95 Signature and 4 Legacy positions. The remaining 332 positions carry no reservation fee.

Important: Legacy works differently across the two collections. Compass Legacy numbers cost ₹3,999, while GENÈVE 1541 Legacy numbers have no reservation fee.

Is the Number Reservation Fee Part of the Watch Price?

No.

The fee is separate from the watch price and applies only to paid number classes.

Where Is My Number Recorded?

Your number is engraved on the caseback.

Once it is engraved, it is part of the watch, not just your order.

Every Compass watch also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, a CZARD coin, a warranty card and a user manual.

Is a Chapter Number the Same as a Serial Number?

It performs the identifying role of a serial number, but adds Chapter context.

A conventional serial number identifies an individual watch. A CZARD Chapter number also tells you where the watch sits within a defined Chapter and reference.

That is why the number is visible on the watch and why collectors can choose an available position.

What Happens When a Chapter Closes?

The Chapter closes permanently once every number is claimed.

No extra positions are added later, and the closed Chapter is not reopened.

Closing a Chapter does not necessarily mean the collection itself has ended. A later Chapter may continue the story with a new numbered record.

What Happens If the Watch Is Sold, Gifted or Serviced?

The number stays with the watch.

If you sell or gift it, the engraved number does not change. Servicing does not give the watch a new number either.

Owners may change over time, but the watch keeps the identity with which it entered the Chapter.

If you are considering a pre-owned CZARD and want to verify its identity, contact CZARD with the engraved number.

Can I Change, Cancel or Return My Number?

A confirmed number cannot simply be changed because you prefer another one.

Engraving begins after confirmation, so choose your number before you pay.

CZARD does not accept cancellations, returns or exchanges simply because of a change of mind, accidental purchase or change in preference.

If a watch arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact CZARD within 3 days of delivery with the order number and supporting photos or video.

A returned or cancelled Chapter number may not necessarily be issued again. Partial COD advances are also non-refundable under the applicable terms.

1. A Chapter has a fixed size: 1,000 numbers per Compass reference and 500 per GENÈVE 1541 reference.

2. The same Chapter, reference and number is issued only once.

Do VENI, VIDI and VICI share one number sequence?

No. Each reference has its own 1,000-position sequence.

Can VENI and VIDI both have number 0143?

Yes. Because they are separate references, each can have position 0143.

Can I buy the same number on VENI, VIDI and VICI?

Yes. If it is available on each one, you can buy the same position across all three references. Check each watch separately.

Can I choose my own CZARD number?

Yes. Use Own a Number for Compass or Choose Number for GENÈVE 1541 and select any available number.

What happens if I do not select a number?

CZARD assigns an available number to your watch.

What is a Legacy number?

On Compass, Legacy covers some of the most coveted positions, such as 0001 and 0777, with a ₹3,999 reservation fee. On GENÈVE 1541, Legacy numbers carry no reservation fee.

What is a Crown number?

Crown covers highly recognisable positions such as 0050 and 1000. Compass Crown fees range from ₹1,999 to ₹2,999. GENÈVE 1541 Crown numbers carry a ₹9,999 fee.

What is an Icon number?

Icon covers distinctive patterns such as 0212 and 0301. Compass Icon fees range from ₹999 to ₹1,999. GENÈVE 1541 Icon numbers carry a ₹3,999 fee.

What is a Signature number?

Signature covers notable sequences such as 0012 and 0023. Compass Signature numbers carry a ₹499 fee. GENÈVE 1541 Signature numbers carry a ₹1,999 fee.

Which Compass numbers cost extra?

Legacy, Crown, Icon and Signature positions carry reservation fees. Standard Compass positions have no additional fee.

Which GENÈVE 1541 numbers cost extra?

How much does number reservation cost?

Does a special number mean I get a different watch?
